Among the bands and marching units to participate were the "French Dukes", (top) made up of high school students from Ann Arbor, and the Junior Temple of Grand Rapids. The convention was attended by about 5,000 delegates and their families.

Clearing of debt on the lodge building of the Elks Pratt Lodge No. 322 and Daisy Chain Temple No. 212 was celebrated yesterday in a mortgage-burning ceremony at the lodge, 220 Sunset Rd. The mortgage burning was conducted by Bertram V. Gregory, president of the Michigan State Association of Elks. Among other speakers were Sheriff Robert E. A. Lillie and Ann Arbor Police Chief Casper Enkemann.
