First Year In Pulpit Celebrated
Second Baptist Church will mark completion of the first year of the pastorate of the Rev Emmett L. Green with special services at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m Sunday.
The Rev. William H. Crews, youth program director at Northern YMCA, Detroit will be guest minister. A reception will follow the afternoon service.
The Rev. Mr. Green came from Roanoke, VA., where he was pastor of the First Baptist Church and dean of the theological department of the Virginia Seminary and College Lynchburg.
During the past year, the administrative, educational, and missionary work of the church has been reorganized, a day care center has been established, and 80 members added.
The Rev. Mr. Green is a member of the Washtenaw Council of Churches, the Civil Rights Coordinating Council, the Committee of Responsibility in Ann Arbor, and the Citizens Advisory Council of the Washtenaw County Juvenile Court.
