Winning Touchdown: Much to the dismay of the Kalamazoo Central defenders, tailback Walt Blissit gallops into the end zone in the second quarter to score the winning touchdown for Pioneer High at Hollway Field. This nine-yard jaunt was a major part of his 27-yard rushing total for the game that was earned on 15 carries against the Maroon Giants.

Tough Yardage: Running back Mike Straub (10) of Huron High picks up some tough yardage near midfield in the fourth quarter before being brought to the Hollway Field turf by Ron Sartori of Pioneer. Straub, one of the better prep hockey players around the city in the winter, had a big game against Pioneer with 80 yards in 14 carries.
