Demonstration - Ann Arbor Police Sgt. Alroy Vanderpool, left, explains the workings of his department's new polygraph machine to Andre A. Barroso representing the Independent Insurance Underwriters group. The underwriters were major contributors to a fund of $6,000 raised to purchase the machine and train Sgt. Vanderpool in its use. The polygraph will be used by Ann Arbor police and all other Washtenaw County law agencies who request tests in criminal cases.

The etching of a driver's license number on valuable articles give law enforcement agencies a positive identification.
