volving the Ann Arbor police
seizure last month of film thev

U-M students and their faculty
adviser were arrested and ar-

an obscene film.
The students arc officers of:
the Cinema Guild, a studenti
group which sponsors a series;
of films at the Architecture j
Auditorium, and the faculty;
member aids them in organiz
ing the programs.
Shortly after they were ar-j
rested, their attorneys filed a
! suit before U.S. Federal District
[Court Judge Theodore Machro-
wicz in Detroit in which they
asked for an order forbidding
police to siezc other Cinema
Guild films and another order
to force the return of the "Flam-1
ing Creatures" movie. The suit
further sued Police Chief Wal-
ter E. Krasny, Detective Lt. Eu-
E'lden adjourned the court
gene L. Staudenmaier and As-
sistant Prosecutor Thomas Shea
for $15,000 in damages.
A show cause hearing had
been scheduled to resume before
Judge Machrowicz yesterday
but was adjourned without a
jnew date set. A Cinema Guild
j defense attorney indicated the
| federal case would not proceed
iuntil after Municipal Court
Judge S. J. Eldcn rules on the
question of police search and
j seizure in the city case now be-
fore him.
Elden adjourned the court
examination of the four defend-
ants last Monday until Feb. 22.
