Police Force Adds

Two Patrolmen

Two new patrolmen went on

duty last night. Police Chief Cas-

per M. Enkemann announced to-

day.

The new officers are William

M. Cox, 24, of 1111 Miner

St., and Charles V. Fleming, 31, of

8388 Stoney Creek Rd., Augusta

township. They have just completed

four weeks of training.

The chief also pointed out that

four other men are now in train-

ing and are expected to go on

duty shortly after July 1, Enke-

mann added there is a "strong

possibility” that another four men

will begin training July 1.

The two new officers both are

married and each has one child.

Cox has a four-year-old daughter,

Deborah Sue. Fleming has a two-

year-old son, Michael. 

Cox was born in Evansville,

Ind., and was graduated from Mt.

Vernon High School at Mt. Ver-

non, Ind. He previously was em-

ployed oy the Strickland Oil

Fields, New Harmony, Ind., as a

truck driver.

Fleming formerly was employed

at the Detroit Transmission Divi-

sion of General Motors Corp. at

Willow Run. He is an Army vet-

eran, serving in 1951-53. He was

born in Detroit and was graduat-

ed from Northern High School

there.
