CHARLES A. KAPP DIES IN HOSPITAL
Retired Police Officer Succumbs At 73
Charles A. Kapp, 73 years old, 1317 Broadway, retired policeman, died this morning in St. Joseph’s Mercy hospital, after a short illness. He retired from the police department at year ago after 15 years service.
He was born April 17, 1873, in Ann Arbor, and had resided here all his life. He was a Spanish American war veteran, serving with Co. C., 31st Michigan volunteers. He was a past commander of Ross Granger camp No. 7, of the war veterans.
He is survived by the widow, Catherine; a daughter, Josephine, Ann Arbor; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Schott, Mrs. Charlotte Marz and Mrs. John Kielwasser, all of Ann Arbor; two brothers, Frank of Ann Arbor and Albert of Chicago; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church. Rev. Henry Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Friends may call at the Graham funeral home until Friday noon.
Men of the police and fire departments will attend the services in a body. The pallbearers will be chosen from the Spanish American War veterans organization.
