Kids, Stay Out Of Leaves In Street! Leaves can be fun to play in -- but not in a city street, Ann Arbor police have been telling local children. Motorists many times cannot see small children half-covered with leaves and one child has already been struck by a car and slightly injured while playing in a leaf pile, officers say. City Traffic Patrolman Patrick Nolan, who gives safety talks to elementary school children, holds a handful of leaves at a curb on a city street and the camera angle by News Photographer Jack Stubbs shows how invisible a child would be to a person in the scout car in the background.
